Astros' Matsui activated from 15-day DL

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Houston Astros second baseman Kazuo Matsui was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday. The 32-year-old Matsui was placed on the DL on August 16 with an irritated disc in his back. Matsui has hit .285 this season with five homers, 23 doubles and 28 runs batted in. In a related move, the team outrighted pitcher Runelvys Hernandez to Triple-A Round Rock, removing him from the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old made four starts for the Astros this season, posting an 0-3 record with an 8.38 earned run average.
