that article is a joke

nothing to write about this time of year. of course his days are probably numbered. as in, he'll be gone in three years almost for sure. but i highly doubt, with the way that team is set up, that anything is imminent. what are they going to do, trade him for more prospects? if so, the rays will have to add another high level minor league team to play all those guys.

kazmir shouldn't sign an extension, either, because 1) unless he thinks his arm is going to fall off, he's going to be worth more and more each year and 2) i wouldn't sign any extension with the rays until i knew they were serious about competing. i think they are but why risk it? kazmir in a few years probably would command upwards of $20MM/year. in other words, the rays payroll last year.
