Super Tecmo Bowl XLI: Bears vs. Colts

I think I agree with the Football Insiders, the Colts are the football equivalent of the '06 Cardinals.

Great secondary in that game.
Lemuel Stinson, Donnell Woolford, Mark Carrier, Shaun Gayle.  Woolford was one of the few guys with which you could block FGs and XPs from the lower part of the screen.

And Tom Waddle caught everything.

Bill Bavasi = worst.GM.evar.
Mariners designated RHP Yorman Bazardo for assignment.
Not a good idea. Bazardo has a better arm than half the pitchers on the Mariners' 40-man roster and just managed a 3.64 ERA as a 21-year-old in Double-A (he turned 22 in July). Bill Bavasi obviously didn't anticipate the roster crush when he added both Michael Garciaparra and potential lefty specialist Ryan Rowland-Smith to the 40-man prior to the Rule 5 draft. Both are less valuable properties than Bazardo, as is Sean White, the right-hander Seattle took from the Braves in the Rule 5 draft. We can't imagine Bazardo making it through waivers.

Kenny loves flame-throwing relievers now...
so I wouldn't be surprised to see him dump someone off the 40-man roster to claim Bazardo.  But Bazardo will probably be claimed before he makes it to us, probably by the Royals.

his stats aren't saying 'throw-away chump'

could't kenny throw bavasi a bone to get him and then drop vasquez from the 40?

Da Bears
I would love to see the Bears win and have all of the SI "experts" have their predictions inserted where the sun don't shine!

wow
I can't tell you how much I play/played Tecmo Super Bowl.  I was always the Eagles and torched people with QB Eagles.  In regards to this game, the Colts were awful and the Bears were one of the top teams.  Neal Anderson ran over everyone.
Go Badgers!

Juan Gone for LF/DH versus lefties!
Alex Cora drove in three runs and Juan Gonzalez collected three hits as Puerto Rico blasted Mexico 11-1 in Caribbean World Series play Friday.
Carlos Alvardo went six as four Puerto Rico pitchers combined on a four-hitter. Mexico appeared to have the mound advantage going in, but Elmer Dessens allowed six runs -- five earned -- in four innings.

MLB interest in Juan Gone...
Published reports out of Puerto Rico indicate that the Angels, Orioles and Tigers have interest in free agent Juan Gonzalez.
Gonzalez, who is currently playing for Puerto Rico in the Caribbean World Series, said there were four major league teams interested in him. He's still hoping to make a run at 500 homers. The 37-year-old currently has 434.

I know he's old and injury-prone but I hope we are the fourth team interested in him.  He would make a nice LF/DH versus lefties for a season.

Maybe Podsednik & Erstad should start using...
since they suck even when they are actually healthy anyways.  Our outfield is pathetic.

Yep...
Give me Mackowiak leading off versus righties any day of the week.

lame
Watching that again, they have the wrong halftime show.  The Super Bowl in Tecmo Super Bowl had it's very own special halftime show.
Go Badgers!
