Ozzie's rant
It is about time Ozzie, Kenny or Jerry Reinsdorf blew their top with this team although I think it is too late for anything good to happen this year. Perhaps, they will  try some of the younger players Russell, Egbert and anyone who has shown some sign of being better than what we have in Chicago currently.

Since no one cares this eve,
off-topic:  This might be unrelated to baseball, but maybe not (if you remember Gasry Matthews, Jr. was linked to these 'roid guys in Orlando).

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003560001-2007400628,00.html

You have to figure if McMahon suspends his top guys because of 'roids it's because he has to.  I wonder if the baseball folks are next, or if they wait until after the season's over.

Quite a performance by our backup 3rd baseman. This is what can happen when "you let the kids play."

Can't have it both ways, bro
You just skewered colin for suggesting some of the SP's "fake" injury so our kids could get more starts because "there are pros and want the G-D ball - every opportunity is important".  (Paraphrasing.)

So, WE CARE!  And, IT SUCKS!

Well...
Gonzalez makes those plays, and the Sox lose 2-1 instead of 5-1.  In that regard, it really doesn't matter.

Is this JP Sartre?

Are you saying, Jer, this doesn't inflame your colon watching this crap?

Your '08 White Sox management: A bunch of jag bags

Sure.
Of course it's painful to watch, but in the end it doesn't really matter.

In fact, in some ways I'm glad when Andy Gonzalez screws up, or when Ryan Bukvich gets shelled.  Anything to convince Ken Williams that these guys aren't and will never be major-league players.

i've been laughing at it since may
i'm not sure why anyone gets worked up about it anymore. they suck. we've known this for months. isn't it time people accepted it and moved on?

May, larry?  What took you so long?

so long?
i think everyone else on this site was still angry/in denial. i think we had an exchange at that time about whether the sox were "boring" and i said this was damned interesting to see how the team was going to fuck up next. this is high comedy.

Just defensive
If you construed it as a joke you wouldn't have to explain that you "got" it earlier than most others.  No need to explain humor, generally.  Lighten up, man - it's a holiday weekend.

do you have any idea how much the chicago media praise jerry owens? it's sickening...

by The Wizard on Aug 31, 2007 3:09 PM CDT up reply actions

If I had to guess...
I'd say that the 2008 leadoff hitter will be -

Jerry Owens - 50% chance
Darin Erstad - 30% chance
Scott Podsednik - 20% chance

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Aug 31, 2007 3:35 PM CDT up reply actions

no
i don't particularly care whether the starters pitch - my point was that they (and the union)likely would. at this point, i honestly couldn't care less who or what ozzie trots out there.

our new 3rd baseman
Andy Gonzales reminds me of Gene Freese. Everyone in the stands had to wear batting helmets when he played. This guy doesn't care in the outfield, and he don't give a shit in the infield either!!

Something is seriously wrong with this team
this year.  This team should not be in last place!

by ckimcircles on Aug 30, 2007 10:33 PM CDT reply actions

What makes you say that?
We have two, maybe three MLB-quality hitters, one MLB-quality starter, and one MLB-quality arm in the pen.

Sounds about right for a last-place team.
