GO SOX!
gross
3, 4, 5 of AJ / Konerko & Erstad. Thats some protection for Konerko. I also see that Podsednik is the DH...ugh. Well, it's good to see that Ozzie is a fan of getting Pedro Alvarez.
What a commentary.
Over .200
dees keed, he bunt like sheet
Pete, you made the cover of SI
AJ's back full time
Slightly off topic - I was at a work function (they call it a Leadership event in the Land of 1MM Dreams) and sat on a shuttle with a Sports and Rec guy with a Braves golf shirt on. Turns out he used to play baseball at the minor league level. We talked about the Sox and he assumed correctly that this is one agonizing year for me and all Sox fans.
The bit of perspective he brought (the reason for this meandering of mine) was when he said "You've got basically the same team this year as in 2005, don't you?" Well, yeah. "It just goes to show how much luck and timing are involved."
I stuffed his copy of "The Black Swan" up his arse and left the shuttle.
Lol. You read that?
Why is Cintron playing?
If you must, Ozzie, let Cintron play 3rd in place of Gonzalez. Oh that's right, he'd need a relay to get it from 3rd to 1st.
Why let the hot rookie play?
Javy, Jenks, Contreras (for the hell of it/trade),
Otherwise, aim high and shoot low.
Look at the heart of this lineup.
- A Pierzynski, C .264 13 43 0
- P Konerko, 1B .262 27 73 0
- D Erstad, RF .260 3 28 7
Laugh, cry or what?

Oh, that's why Podsednik is playing.
He's fast.
Anyone watch Polanco hit.
2, 3, 5, 10 extra hits a year. Maybe.
If you must have someone who chokes up
maybe polanco
That's not quite...
It seems to work well for Polanco.

For my next joke that has to be explained...
I vill be here all of ze veek.
I was actually surprised...
I maintain that, by the time a player makes it to the majors, it's usually too late to change their hitting style, but I would have thought that somewhere along the line in the minors someone would have worked hard with Owens to generate a quicker, more compact swing.

Last chance to score. NADA.
Did you see where the left fielder was playing?
Oh God...
The horror...the horror.
Hey...the best-hitting guy in the line-up is A.J. with a whopping .267 average. Go team!
That's AFTER a 2-2 day.
The Sox are on the cutting edge of
Hah! Take that!
A high stakes game of chess.
That and Jason Grilli is a stud.
I'm 'watching' on Gameday...

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Shows what you know. He doubled in 1st AB!
Since this game is such a barn burner...
Autumn upon us
Bat swings fall upon deaf ears
Drink beer to ease pain
You are the William S. Burroughs
Or Kahil Ghibran. Take your pick.
He might've heard of Burroghs
His name was Khalil, not Kahil
It's nice of Buehrle...

Look, our pitchers still suck
The ball sits squarely in their court. Whether or not they choose to accept their challenge, nay, their JOB, is not for me to say.
True.

Without a homer,
Non HR runs
This sounds like a job for The Cheat...
Whee!
After Fields strikes out and Pierzynski grounds weakly to second, we'll be back for the bottom of the eighth.

Okay...
Now Konerko will pop out, and the fans will be treated to him angrily slamming the bat down. I love it when he does that.

Wasn't the throng calling for Danny Boy
Pinch runner for Timo?
Ha ha ha
they're leaving it late, folks
What are they going out to tell Jenks?
Keep it up, kid!
here's a guess
HBP...great
The advantages of choking up!!!!!
YES!
Although the Tigers should be depressed that the game was this close, not celebrating that they won.

With the Sox bullpen they're never out of it

Whew!
Cue circus music (again).
Thanks Bobby!
Richar and Cintron
Polanco's seeing eye single -- does he hit any other kind? -- was the hardest hit ball of the inning, and the first to leave the infield.
A clutch performance
Remember last year when Jenks
I now know what it feels like to inhabit the hell that is a Chicago Cubs fan. Through the looking glass! Up is down!
If the Sox play .500 the rest of the year,
71-91
PRE-Season
Too lazy to confirm that, but some things I still remember...
Hey, I include pre-season
IF they play .500 out. I doubt it.
Sox streak officially over
I figure 17 more losses should get us the #1 pick. Seems realistic.
We're trying
