Bobby Jenks Cements His Place as White Sox Regular Most-Likely to be Traded this Off-Season

Bobby Jenks doesn't seem too happy about the Sox new conditioning plan.

Further proof that Chicago doesn't have a monopoly on idiot sports columnists

Kawakami seems to be trying his best to combine the worst of Rogers and Cowley. A recent example is this article he penned while evaluating both the Giants and A’s roster. My favorite part of the article is how he defines his "keepers" and here’s his definition: A keeper is someone who could play a productive role on a playoff-level team or could be traded to acquire more keepers. He then goes on to divide the rosters into keepers and non-keepers. He goes Rogers on us with comparing the numbers of keepers from each team and the change in the number of keepers vs. last year. Also worth noting, he goes on to pull a Cowley by having Rowand as a keeper last year and a non-keeper this year.

Adam Eaton is not a good pitcher. But nobody told the White Sox.

Cowley Stirring Things Up: Nix to Replace Ramirez?

It is probably not a coincidence that Jayson Nix has been playing shortstop for both Class AA Birmingham and now Class AAA Charlotte on his current rehab assignment, especially considering the struggles Ramirez is having offensively for the White Sox. Nix is out of minor-league options, so when he's declared healthy, he's either on the 25-man roster or would have to get through waivers. Here's a very logical scenario if Ramirez snaps out of it or not: The Sox call Nix up and either send Jerry Owens down because Brent Lillibridge can also play center field or possibly even send Ramirez down so he can get right. That means Nix would play shortstop.

Orlando Cabrera liked stint with Sox ... except for Cowley

Orlando Cabrera claims the media tried making his life miserable when he was playing shortstop for the White Sox last year. Other than that, he has no regrets when looking back on his one decidedly stormy season on the South Side. "I was happy with the job I did, and the fact we went to the playoffs was awesome, especially compared to the season (72-90) they had the year before," Cabrera said Sunday in a wide-ranging interview with the Daily Herald. "It was a great experience. I played with guys that are going to the Hall of Fame (Jim Thome and Ken Griffey Jr.) and that will always make me feel good."

Cowley's wife: "Do you think that Konerko guy likes me?"

'You never know because the answer could be you help them by leaving,'' Konerko said. ''I would never be opposed to that. It doesn't have to be a breakup that's antagonistic. It doesn't have to be a thing where heads are butted.''

Angels officially deny Dye-for-Figgins rumor

Los Angeles Angels general manager Tony Reagins on Tuesday said his team is not interested in trading for Chicago White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye. Reagins told the Los Angeles Times for Wednesday's editions there is "no truth" to a rumor floated by the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday, in which the Angels would acquire Dye. Reagins said he has not spoken with the White Sox since the winter meetings in December, and added the conversation "wasn't regarding any player." He also said he is not currently looking for an outfielder.
