Playoff Picture Becoming Clearer

With the White Sox victory over the Tribe, and the Yankees victory over the Sawks, the White Sox first round playoff opponent becomes much clearer. -- The Yankees clinched the AL East.

  • If the Red Sox or White Sox win tomorrow, the White Sox will host the Red Sox on Tuesday in the ALDS.
  • If the Red Sox lose and the Indians win, there will be a playoff for the Wild Card. In this scenario...
    • A Red Sox victory in the playoff game would also result in a Red Sox/White Sox ALDS
    • An Indians victory would result in the White Sox playing host to the Angels
Sorry to all of you who wanted to play the Yankees. It's not going to happen... in the first round anyways. -- I'm not disappointed at all. The Yankees have gone 84-47 since their rough start.
