Thank You, Mr. Pujols

The White Sox two possible World Series opponents each have different respective strengths. The Sox have not faced a single pitcher thus far in the post season that could match even one of the Astros big three. The Cardinals have the single best hitter in baseball along with some great pitching of their own.

Overall, I don't really care who we would have to face in the Series. I'm just happy to be there. On this night, however, I was seriously pulling for the Cardinals for a few of reasons.

  1. There's a chance, albeit a slim one, that I'd be able to score some tickets to a game in St. Louis.

  2. The Cardinals have a great group of fans. And while Busch stadium isn't the prettiest place on Earth, I want them to give it a proper send off. -- I'm sure not many thought that Game 2 of the NLCS was the last game there, but should they be down in the 9th in either of the last two games you can be sure the St. Louis faithful are going to soak it all in.

  3. Let's tire these guys out. We had Boston playing for their playoff lives right down to the last day, and the Angels taking the ALDS to 5 games to advance. I can't help but think that those games had something to do with the way they seemingly rolled over in the playoffs.
