Good-bye Geoff Blum

I have been lamenting the slow start to the free-agent season, so it should come as no surprise that I was underwhelmed at the first free agent to switch teams. Our very own, World Series hero, Geoff Blum, who signed a 1-year deal with the Padres last night.

It should come as no surprise that Blum

  1. wasn't back with the Sox
  2. ended up back in San Diego
His wife gave birth to triplets during the season, and he had set down roots in the SoCal area.

He had just 4 total RBI in his short stay with the Sox. But he will always be remembered in Chicago, and probably Houston, for the game-winning HR in the longest game in World Series history. Thanks Geoff.
