I don't post a lot of baseball news that relates only tangentially to the Sox, but I thought this one was important. First of all because there were rumors of an AL outfielder from a playoff team testing positive, and also because I thought that Lawton could be a good choice to fill in as the LHed bat at DH/OF. The Carl Everett role.
Lawton testing positive lifts a bit of weight off my back. -- I was so worried that Timo Perez was going to be revealed. -- But it also probably removes an off-season option for the White Sox, as they likely won't go near anyone with ties to steroids.
