True Story

Near the end of the '04 season, I was walking on the concourse with my brother wondering what the Sox would look like in the future.

I knew Jose Valentin wasn't coming back. "No more 'Jose, Jose, Jose... Jose, Jose'" I lamented.

I knew one of Paul Konerko or Carlos Lee wouldn't be back. "No more El Caballo, or no more 'Pauly' chants"

I knew Maggs had seen his last days in a Sox uniform. "No more 'O-E-O'"

I was finding it hard to imagine life at the ballpark in 2005. It seemed like the franchise, the guys who I'd come to embrace over the last 4 years or so, was about to be gone... and I was sad.

If only I knew.
