Shingo Takatsu wanted to explore his other major league options before he accepted an assignment to the minor leagues. Well that's exactly what he did today. Takatsu signed a minor league contract with the triple-A farm club of the New York Mets.
"It's going to be a 2½-week tryout," Takatsu's agent, Joe Urbon, told the Post.
Playoffs?!
Teams must set their playoff rosters by the end of August.
I hope Shingo knows how to play the outfield.
