Scouting Report -- By Tango

New, comments

For those of you who don't read Tango Tiger, he's an extremely intelligent man in sabermetrics and baseball in general, and has come up with (what I think) is an extremely neat idea.

Basically, he wants the fans to give their input on the teams and players that they watch every day. He wants as many people as possible to put in their feelings on the players they know best.

Tango has set up a list where you fill out your opinion on a team's player. I strongly suggest that you fill out the team you follow most, and try not to bias your views.

You can read about it here, but this is his basic summary of what the "2005 Scouting Report By the Fans, For the Fans" is all about:

What I would like to do now is tap that pool of talent [fans knowledge]. I want you to tell me what your eyes see. I want you to tell me how good or bad a fielder is. Go down, and start selecting the team(s) that you watch all the time. For any player that you've seen play in at least 10 games in 2005, I want you to judge his performance in 7 specific fielding categories.

One more thing. Would you guys be interested if I were to do a weekly minor league recap? I want to help Cheat out a bit, yet I don't want to feel as if I'm posting just to post, so I'll only do it if you guys would be interesting in reading such a thing.
