Williams must find more table-setters. Detroit Tigers lefty Jamie Walker sits atop the Sox' wish list. Signing Walker would accomplish two goals -- strengthening the Sox' bullpen and weakening the bullpen of their main competition in the American League Central. Though the Tigers have vowed to spend big this winter, they have other needs -- and they just took on Gary Sheffield's bigger salary. They might not be able to match an offer from the Sox, who will spend their most money on relief help. Walker would give manager Ozzie Guillen the extra lefty he craves and would allow Williams to shop a disappointing -- yet still young -- Neal Cotts, who could still wind up as a starter somewhere.
Update: MLBTradeRumors says 3 years and $12 million might do it.
