Another update on how the Sox prospects are doing in the various Fall and Winter leagues.
Here are some highlights. In the Arizona Fall League, CF Jerry Owens is hot: his batting average has climbed to .310, though he got caught stealing twice last Thursday (Nov. 9) and has 10 stolen bases in 12 attempts. RHP Adam Russell (2-0) extended his scoreless streak to 9 2/3 innings with his two outings this week. LHP Wesley Whisler (1-1) had three scoreless outings this week and got his first victory on Monday (Nov. 13).
In the Venezuelan Winter League, RHP Jeff Farnsworth has 17 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings.
And in the Mexican Pacific League, LF Ruben Rivera had five homers in his last six games and he has a total of 10 homers and 26 RBIs in 28 games.
