Jim Thome: Professional Hitter

After going the first three weeks of spring training without hitting a single homerun, Jim Thome now has 6 of them in just 4 days and 15 at-bats. He's a lumberjack and he's okay.

The bullpen was surprisingly efficient today. Boone Logan pitched in only his second game in which he inherited runners. He stranded two after unleashing a wild pitch on his first offering.

Matt Thornton looked smooth and under control again. Obviously it's early, but Don Cooper may, in fact, be the next Leo Mazzone. If Coop can keep Thornton consistent, the Borchard trade will make Williams look like a genius again.

Brandon McCarthy seems to be alternating between good and bad outings this spring. His fastball was popping and the change-up was solid today.
