World Baseball Classic: Day 1

Point, counterpoint
Hey look, Urbina's here...
and he brought his machete
As I've stated before, I'm excited about the WBC; today's games in particular. In just under an hour, the first pitch of the marquee first round match-up between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic will be thrown. The US will face Mexico immediately following that contest.

But most importantly, to White Sox fans at least, Javier Vazquez and team Puerto Rico take on Panama at 6PM central. Puerto Rico coach, and member of the Cheap Seats Hall of Fame, Jose Oquendo has said that Vazquez will definitely throw more than 50 pitches. Though, the WBC rules limit him to a maximum of about 65 pitches.
