Thome not going to Home Run Derby

Dave van Dyck:

If American League home run leader Jim Thome is asked to participate in the All-Star Game's Home Run Derby, he will say thanks but no thanks. "It's one of those things where we have such a good thing going and with the injuries I had last year, I don't think I should do it," he said.

Good, no need to try to hit 30 dingers in 30 minutes and hurt your back. Besides, nobody will remember those.
