Anything Interesting Happen In My Absence?

Well, I sure picked a fine 10 days to miss. I hadn't even left the Chicago metro area last Thursday before the White Sox were making news with the Riske-Lopez trade. Less than 16 hours removed from Ozzie's dugout reaming of Sean Tracey, I should have known it was going to be a busy week.

It's become a weird coincidence that the White Sox play incredibly well when I'm out of state and not paying much, if any, attention to their games. Last season they only were about .500 while I was gone, but over the last 5 or 6 years they play over .750 ball when I'm gone. -- So I have to ask, who was the first person to say something like 'Cheat should go on vacation more often?'

I suppose I should weigh in on the Ozzie-Marriotti fued, but I honestly don't know why it's a story. Ozzie used a word that he shouldn't have in an attempt to insult Marriotti. He apologized to all parties who needed apologizing. Perhaps the sensitivity training will teach him to be more selective in his insults.

• Reading through some of the discussions today, I don't know how some of you gave up last night. After the previous 5 games, with the magic of the 2005 season making a curtain call, did you think the they were just going to roll over?
• Harry, of Mac, Jurko, & Harry, is hinting that Kenny Williams 'has something in the works', and is close to bringing a former White Sox player back to the south side. -- Just speculating, but Mike Cameron is the name that makes the most sense to me.
• Sean Tracey, saying all the right things after his demotion to AAA, is taking care of business on the field too, earning International League pitcher of week honors. -- Ozzie still should have taken him away from the cameras for the toungue lashing, and stated that his demotion was due to an impending move. All he did was open himself up to unneeded criticism for the next 16 hours.

Finally, I need to say thank you to all of you. From the looks of it, the site didn't miss a beat while I was gone. In fact, I can clearly see why you are all stopping by every day. It's great to come together with other fans and discuss the team we all love.
