White Sox Quotes of the Day: Matt Thornton, Jim Thome, Ozzie Guillen

Matt would like another chance:

[Mark Gonzales]

"I would love to start again. They're having a heck of a time getting [Brandon] McCarthy in the rotation right now. He had a great career as a starter in the minors. That's something I don't worry about. If they came to me down the road to see if [I'd] want to start, I'd be more than willing. I'd love to. ... I threw about 28 innings [in the minors], struck out 35 and walked eight, but I never got a start in the majors again. It blew my mind, especially with the way their starters [seattle's] struggled."

Another tidbit: Big Jim is feeling better, though he hasn't tried to run on his injured leg:

[Scott Merkin]

"That's kind of how this all works. You start feeling better every day. We did a lot of treatment, obviously, and it's coming along good. I think [Saturday] will be a really big day, as far as how I felt today, going into [Saturday]."

Ozzie may pinch-hit him tonight:

[Joe Cowley]

"He feels better today [friday]. His range of motion is better. I don't think he'll go on the disabled list. He'll be day-to-day, but definitely tomorrow I won't use him [against left-hander Johan Santana], unless to pinch-hit or something."
