White Sox Quotes of the Day: Ozzie Guillen

According to Ozzie, the only Sox outfielder who doesn't have to worry about his job next season is Jermaine Dye. LF and CF are open competitions. Brian Anderson can claim the CF job showing some improvement:

[Joe Cowley]

"I'm not saying Brian's not going to be out at center field. But I'm not the type of person that hands you any position, 'Here, it's yours.' I think people have to earn it. We don't lose any games because of Brian, but Brian has to get better and he knows about it. He has to get better in so many different things, and hopefully in spring training he shows up the way we think he's going to be."
Josh Fields may get a chance at LF says Ozzie:
"It's hard for me to say because I need speed. If you look at my third [Dye], four [Jim Thome], five [Paul Konerko], six [A.J. Pierzynski] hitters, hopefully for next year, that's a slow track right there. I need some guy with speed. I'll see what Kenny wants to do, if we're going to give him a shot. I love the kid. I think I was wrong when I saw him the first time and said this kid's going to take a little while to be a baseball player. He proved me wrong."

Another OF option? The LA Daily News reports that Chone Figgins might be part of a package for Joe Crede. I don't want to see Joe in another uniform next year.
