The Tribune's Dave van Dyck points to 10 games the Sox could have won this season:

Aug. 26: Twins 8, Sox 7 (11)
Sox come back from a 5-1 deficit and tie the game with Jermaine's 2-run homer in the 9th, but Matt Thornton allows a single, a stolen base, and another single for the game's winning run.

Aug. 31: Devil Rays 5, Sox 3 (10)
Matt Thornton blows the save in the 8th. Brandon McCarthy loads the bases and gives up a 2-run single in the 10th.

Sept. 5: Red Sox 1, White Sox 0
After Bobby Jenks gives up the game-tying run run the 9th, and Brandon McCarthy the game-winning run in the 9th on the night before, rookie pitcher Kason Gabbard shuts down the Sox.

And who can forget the times Ozzie started Mackowiak, instead of BA in CF and Mack turned outs to hits? Like in a game at the Cell against the twins, where Mack's misreads in an inning at the beginning of the game turned into 3 runs for the twins. I think it was the August 26 game. I don't blame Mack, CF is not his position. I blame the guy who put him there.
