Javier Vazquez (11-9, 4.70) vs. Jake Woods (5-3, 4.19)
Jake Woods is the kind of crappy lefty that helped Josh Fields (.343/.431/.620 against AAA lefties) post a top 5 OPS in the International League. With the way Joe Crede has played since his back flared up, and the way Jim Thome has swung lately against lefties (.214/.316/.310 since July 1), there is no excuse for Fields to be sitting on the bench this game.
Anyone else notice that the Sox season ended 24 hours before the third season of The Office began? At least I'll have something entertaining to watch tonight.
