You can put it on the board!

What does Hawk have in common with Ray Meyer, Mike Ditka, Harry Caray, Jack Brickhouse, Johnny 'Red' Kerr, Ryne Sandberg, Otto Graham and Jerry Reinsdorf? They're all winners of the Lifetime Achievement Sports Award. Hawk was the latest winner of the award, after 44 years on and off the field in baseball. His love and passion of the Sox have earned him the 'homer' tag. Hawk sees it as badge of honor:

"One of the greatest honors you can have is to be called a homer, because every White Sox fan knows I want the Sox to win. When they don't, I'm [ticked] off. There are people who love the White Sox as much as I do, but nobody loves them more than I do. I take it home with me every night when we lose tough games."
Coop was also there, to receive the player of the Year award for Bobby Jenks:
"I'm proud of Bobby. It's another case of one of my pitchers making me look good, but only this time, it's for a different reason [Bobby's active participation in White Sox Charities]."

In other news, here's the headline I saw on whitesox.com: "Perez inks Minor League deal with Sox." My first thought was 'Is Timoniel back'? No, Kenny is smarter than that. It's the LHP hitting Eduardo Perez. Remember his 2-run homer against the Sox on Opening Day 2006? Is there room left for a not-100% healthy Pods anymore?

BTW, the Big H on the other side of the town issued an ultimatum:

"I want to sign with the Cubs before the season starts. If they don't sign me, sorry, but I must go. That's what Carlos Zambrano thinks. When you're a great pitcher and have talent, you deserve the money no matter who gives it to you. Zito is a great pitcher. Good for him he has that contract, and I think that will help me. [Cubs general manager] Jim [Hendry] spent a lot of money. I hope he has more for 'Big Z.'"
