More craziness on having Podsednik and Erstad hit first and second. Hitting coach Greg Walker:
"As good a job as Tadahito has done in the No. 2 hole, that's not his past history. Well, it is Darin Erstad's past history. I think there's something to be gained there. I've already talked to Darin about it, and he's excited about it."
Another diamond from Walker:
"When Scott [Podsednik] is on his game, he's one of the premier leadoff hitters in baseball. And they are very difficult to find. I mean, let's look around baseball and see who else is out there. There's not many on this earth that can do what he does."
Yep, the Arizona sun is strong.
The Torpedo Boat speaks.
Arburua, Uribes' U.S.-based agent, said that Uribe's attorney in the Dominican Republic told him that Uribe doesn't have to go back to the Dominican to attend another court hearing and that the case will likely be dropped. Also, Scott Merkin says "[Uribe reported] looking in much better physical condition than he did at the end of the 2006 season."
