Today's White Sox Quote of the Day comes from Don Cooper. Coop on the race for the fifth slot in the White Sox starting rotation:

[Nathaniel Whalen]

Johnny threw good in the first inning, didn't quite get ahead like he had been every other inning that we had seen him. I think we threw too many fastballs in one inning with the big lead. The thing you continue to learn is we have to continue to pitch and use all of our pitches. But one tough outing certainly doesn't take him out. Gavin came in and did a nice job. Still fighting and working to get ahead. What he did do is put more balls in play. And his stuff was able to work. I mean, he has good stuff, he has a good arm. So the race continues.

In other news, Ozzie says he will bat Peter Pan (Erstad) 2nd against righties in the regular season, and he will trim the roster from 40 to about 28 tomorrow.
