What's AJ up to?

[Joe Cowley]

Pierzynski, who just happens to be a huge Florida Gators fan, has spent the last week trying to talk Thome into staying tonight in Atlanta so they can attend the Florida-UCLA Final Four game in the Georgia Dome.

The problem is that the Sox charter leaves right after this afternoon's game with the Braves, and there's a workout on Sunday morning at U.S. Cellular Field.

So what did the scheming Pierzynski come up with as a solution?

He told Thome he would provide the tickets for the game if Thome came up with the private jet to get them back in time.

As of Friday -- no deal.
