Planet Ozzie

Does Ozzie live in a parallel universe?

[Joe Cowley]

Guillen said Darin Erstad is playing such a good center field that backup Brian Anderson might start taking more fly balls in left.

"Put it this way: I might tell Anderson to take some fly balls in left field because I might keep Erstad in center field and put Anderson in left," Guillen said.

It won't mean more playing time for Anderson, however. It just means that Anderson could get more looks as a late-inning defensive replacement in left field.

As far as more at-bats, Guillen wasn't making any promises. "What happened to B.A., that's his fault. We gave him the opportunity last year."

And, I thought a team was supposed to support its players. Silly me.

BTW, here's the Tribune version.
