Ozzie is impressed Ryan Sweeney. Ozzie said Sweeney will probably be send down though, when Jim Thome comes back, because he needs to play every day. Ozzie had a discussion with Kenny before yesterday's game and "the decision does not appear to be quite as clear cut":
"We do not have any decision yet, because we don't know how far [away Thome is]. The decision will be made how many days [Sweeney] is going to play and how many at-bats he's going to get. Is he ready to play? No, not really, really, really at this time. Maybe later on in the year he is. Sweeney has a lot of confidence and he does a lot of good stuff. But he's a little behind. He's a baby."
And Ozzie is satisfied with how Brian Anderson "took" his demotion to AAA-Charlotte:
"If you go down and not perform, you could stay there for a little while. He took it the right way. He took it the way everyone should take the game."
Guillen fully expects to see Anderson again this season and has just as high expectations in regard to Anderson still becoming a productive Major Leaguer.
"He could go down there and quit and waste one year, or go down and play the game the way he should be playing the game. He took it the right way ... Brian is a big-league player, but sometime big-league players have to prepare themselves better than others, physically and mentally."
Mark Buehrle reflects on his no-hitter.
Finally, the April 26 rainout game against Detroit was rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on July 24 (starting times of 1:05 and 7:11 p.m.).
