Charlie Haeger recalled

Prior to tonight's game at Baltimore, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Charlie Haeger from Class AAA Charlotte. Haeger, a 23-year-old knuckleballer, has gone 4-11 with a 4.81 ERA (54 ER/101.0 IP), 92 strikeouts and two complete games in 17 starts with Charlotte this season. Over his last five starts, he compiled a 1.82 ERA (7 ER/34.2 IP) with 35 strikeouts, lowering his ERA from 6.19 to 4.81. The 6-1, 220-pound Haeger averaged 8.2 strikeouts per 9.0 IP, striking out seven or more batters six times with a season high of 10 on June 29 at Syracuse. He appeared in seven games (one start) with the White Sox in 2006, going 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA (7 ER/18.1 IP), one save and 19 strikeouts. Haeger will wear uniform No. 40.
