A quick recap of the the 1st game of today's doubleheader.
Javy was impressive: 8.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, 2 HR.
He dominated the Tiger lineup. Besides Granderson, whose mom's home cooking makes him explode says Farmio, he kept the Tigers at bay. Combine Javy's performance with a good day by the Sox hitters and the Sox came out on top 5-3. Josh Fields and Paulie hit a homer each and Jerry Owens broke his 'no extra base hits' streak with a double, all off Jeremy Bonderman. I guess the fact that our bullpen guys, minus Bobby (gameday says he hit 97), didn't enter the game didn't hurt.
BTW, Ozzie said Dewon Day was sent down to open up a spot for Gavin Floyd. Hopefully his second outing is nothing like the first.
