Jose Contreras, Tadahito Iguchi and others

No discounts from Kenny's Pitcher Market:

Teams have inquired about Jon Garland and Javier Vazquez, but general manager Ken Williams is asking for the moon in return. As of this week, the asking price for Jose Contreras is also steep, but considering he's the best starting pitcher on the market, he can be had.
Scot Gregor thinks the Sox are stuck with Jose but the Mets are still interested says Whalen:
The New York Mets, thought to be one of the teams most in need of starting pitching and willing to take a chance on Contreras, had a scout in attendance Wednesday at U.S. Cellular Field.
BTW, don't expect to see Contreras in the bullpen. He needs an hour to get loose says Ozzie.

In other news, the Padres and Mets are interested in Tadahito, Atlanta is offering Texas, C Jarrod Saltalamacchia (Salty), RHP Matt Harrison, and SS Elvin Andrus for 1B Mark Teixeira says Robothal, and Cleveland reacquired CF Kenny Lofton from Texas for 22 year old catcher Maximiliano Ramirez. And Jim tries to crack the Great Podsednik divide.
