Ozzie is scouting Bartolo Colon:
Free-agent ace Bartolo Colon could be making a return to Chicago.
Rotoworld gives us Colon's line: 5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 K, 0 BB. Buster Olney says "the Mets backed off after taking a closer look at the condition of his right arm."
White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has traveled to the Dominican Republic to see Colon pitch in the Dominican winter league. Guillen says he wanted to see if Colon was healthy because -- if so -- he could be "an important part of the team for the White Sox."
The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on minor-league contracts with infielders Brad Eldred, Royce Huffman, Jeff Liefer and Michael Rouse, catchers Paul Phillips and Ryan Smith, infielder/outfielder Jason Bourgeois, outfielder Miguel Negron and right-handed pitcher D.J. Carrasco. All nine players, in addition to infielder Chris Getz, have received non-roster invites to the club's spring training camp in Tucson, Ariz.
Speaking of Spring Training, Robin Ventura will also be in Tucson. Pablo too.
- Jim looks at Charlie Haeger, and Jay says the Sox need another starter.
- Hot Stove: Teams linked to Mike Cameron: A's, Yankee$, Brewers. Seems he signed a 1-year deal with the Brewers.
- Carl's latest strip: There's No Place Like Tucson.
