"Hopefully the result will be the right one, because if we win this thing, Billy Martin, Earl Weaver, all those guys will be on diapers with what I'm going to say, because I'm going to rip a lot of people's hearts,'' Guillen said.
"Because enough is enough. What are we going to do to satisfy people? I'm going to say bad stuff about my players?''' ...
"I tell my players every day, 'Give me some bullets to fight for you,' '' Guillen said. "Everything I do in this town is fight for my players. And everyone likes to hammer and hammer and hammer how horse (bleep) I am.
"Check my record as a manager. If the people think I don't want Konerko to be good and make my life easier, not my game, my life . . . and I don't want (Nick) Swisher to be good?
"I want all those guys to be good, I'll be great. If they're bad, I'm the one who will take the consequences and I'll take the blame.
"But I hate people think we're just sitting here and putting people on the field because I'm afraid of Konerko or he's making $20 million or this guy's making money.
"I don't give a (bleep) what they think. I'm going to put the best guy there and see what happens.''
