Over the last 14 games, the White Sox have gone 5-9, scoring an average of 3.43 runs/game and posting a collective batting line of .226/.282/.363. Among regulars, Nick Swisher, Ken Griffey Jr., Orlando Cabrera, AJ Pierzynski and Alexei Ramirez all own a slugging percentage under .303 over that span.
The offense hasn't been the only culprit for the skid, the bullpen has let the Sox down in a big way. They've combined to allow opponents to hit .323/.404/.477 overall and astounding .452/.500/.710 and .333/.409/.513 in the 8th and 9th innings, respectively. Jim points out that Ozzie has limited right-handed options in front of Bobby Jenks right now. And I'd add that Jenks hasn't exactly been very good lately, allowing runs in 3 of his last 4 outings.
