White Sox announce 2012 MLB Draft signings

The White Sox have agreed to terms with 24 of their 41 selections from the 2012 MLB Draft, including 1B Keon Barnum, the 48th overall pick. Only OF Courtney Hawkins (1st), RHP Kyle Hansen (6th) and C Jose Barraza (7th) remain unsigned from the club's top picks.

Among the other top picks, Barnum, 2B Joey DeMichele (3rd) and SS Nick Basto (5th) are expected to be assigned to the Bristol Sox in the Appalachian League and RHP Chris Beck (2nd), RHP Brandon Brennan (4th), RHP Zach Isler (8th), 2B Micah Johnson (9th) and RHP Brandon Hardin (10th) are expected to be assigned to the Great Falls Voyagers in the Pioneer League.

All signed draft picks will participate in a mini-camp this week in Arizona before departing for their assignments. Great Falls begins their season on the June 18 and Bristol begins their season on June 19.

A Fresno sports reporter has tweeted that Barraza intends to sign but will not be arriving in Arizona until Thursday.
