The already unstable White Sox pitching staff took another hit today, when it was announced that Gavin Floyd is going to miss his start Monday with right forearm soreness. In his place, Dylan Axelrod will start on Monday in Boston. Axelrod just pitched two innings to close out the 14 inning affair versus the Royals on Friday.
Philip Humber will come off of the disabled list and start on Tuesday. The starter on Wednesday night is TBD. If Floyd is ready to go, he could make the start. Other options would be to call up yet another rookie or to move up Jose Quintana one day.
Floyd, who traveled back to Chicago to have an MRI, has no structural damage and is not expected to hit the disabled list at this time.
In better news, according to Daryl Van Schouwen's twitter account, Jesse Crain felt fine after throwing 30 pitches today in a side session and is hoping to make a rehab outing by Friday.
