White Sox 2, Rangers 1: Youkilis leads team in sweep

Jose Quintana (4-1) was outstanding in the hot hot heat this afternoon, holding the Rangers to one run in his eight innings of work. He struck out eight and walked one -- the lone runner to cross the plate from the Lone Star State. Addison Reed pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save.

The rookie pitching we have been getting from the White Sox staff is pretty amazing, but how huge was Kevin Youkilis in his first home series on the South Side?

Man.

Today he went 1-for-3 with a walk. Sox RBI beast Alexei Ramirez grounded out to drive him in, tying the game in the fourth inning. Then, two innings later, he took Matt Harrison deep for a solo HR. He scored both Sox runs today.

Yesterday you might recall he had a walk off base hit in the 10th to win the game. He was 2-for-4 with a walk in that one.

And going back to his first home game on Tuesday, he homered in his first at-bat, starting a 3-for-6 night, with three runs and four driven in as the Sox pummeled Roy Oswalt.

What a first home series for the third baseman. In this three-game set alone, he outperformed the production the White Sox had at the hot corner all season long. Ridiculous.
