The White Sox activated Paul Konerko off of the 7-day disabled list and recalled left-hander Hector Santiago from Charlotte. To make room, Orlando Hudson and Leyson Septimo were sent to the disabled list.
Hudson, who fouled a ball off of his foot on Wednesday, heads to the DL with a contusion of the first metatarsal joint in his left foot. The veteran is hitting just .182 with a homer and hasn't seen much playing time as of late.
Septimo is experiencing left biceps inflammation. Leyson has a 6.00 ERA over 12 appearances. In his last outing he walked the only batter he faced on four pitches, which played a large hand in costing the White Sox the series opener against the Blue Jays.
Konerko had been on the DL with a concussion after Jarrod Dyson pulled a Macho Man Randy Savage and labeled the captain in the temple with an elbow.
Santiago was sent down to Charlotte to stretch his arm out, and ended up pitching 14.2 innings of scoreless baseball over three starts.
Both players will be ready to go for tonight's game against the Royals.
