Finally, White Sox Outsider 2013 is on sale. It's 234 pages, it's $19.99, and you can knock 25 percent off that price with the coupon code MARCHBOOKS13.
If you're new to the site/my books, this is the fifth year I've done the Outsider book. I basically spend October through February working on it, and it's updated through the Conor Gillaspie trade.
The breakdown of this year's Outsider:
Section 1: Transaction Register: Starting with the release of Ozzie Guillen, a move-by-move account of the season, explaining trades, signings, promotions, demotions and injuries.
Section 2: 2012 Season in Review: A month-by-month recap of the 2012 season, expounding on the biggest storylines and hitting on the idiosyncratic moments of the season, too.
Section 3: Down on the Farm: A review of the farm system and the draft, as well as top prospect lists for 2013 and 2014.
Section 4: White Sox Eulogies: Parting words for all departing players, from A.J. Pierzynski to Kevin Youkilis and everybody in between (even Eric Stults!).
Section 5: Regime Change: How Kenny Williams won his cold war with Ozzie Guillen and redeemed himself in the process, what he leaves for new general manager Rick Hahn, and the task ahead.
Section 6: Looking Forward: Reviews and previews for Robin Ventura the entire 40-man roster.
Each section is introduced by a brand-new Carl Skanberg cartoon, and they're all great. You can go to my book site for a preview of the insides -- it's kinda like flipping through the bookstore, if all but eight pages were stuck together.
I'm working on an eBook version of it right now, although it's more complicated than it should be. I'll keep you posted on that.
Hopefully you'll buy one. Hopefully satisfied book customers here will tell you why you should buy one. Hopefully you might recommend that other Sox fans you know buy one.
In other words...
Thanks for putting up with my shillery!
