All the Carlos Sanchez fans will have to continue to wait to see their beloved hero make his major league debut, as the White Sox called up right-handed relief pitcher Deunte Heath up from Charlotte while placing Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list. The Sox needed another pitcher added to the bullpen with Dylan Axelrod and Jose Quintana struggling early.
You may remember Heath from his two innings he pitched last season, during one of which he gave up 16.67% of Chris Gimenez's career homerun total. According to pitch F/X, Heath posses a fastball in the 92-94 MPH range, a slider, and a changeup.
He pitched very well for Charlotte last season, putting up an ERA of 1.48 over 67 innings, allowing four homeruns and posting a sterling K/BB ratio of 3.7. Here's hoping he can bring those talents to the major league bullpen with him. We could use it.
