The White Sox jumped out to an early lead when Alejandro De Aza walked and stole second to start the game, then scored on a Jeff Keppinger single.

They added two much needed insurance runs in the fifth inning on an Alex Rios home run.

Jose Quintana went 5+ innings, stretching his scoreless innings streak to 18⅔ innings before losing a bit of control in the sixth inning. 'The dreaded lead off walk' came around to score and his day was done. He left the game with runners on the corners and nobody out.

Nate Jones let one more cross the plate, but the bullpen did their job as Jones, Matt Thornton, Jesse Crain and Addison Reed worked three innings with no runs charged to them.

  • Reed is now 6-for-6 in save opportunities.
  • Alex Rios is hitting .297 with six homers, 10 runs, 11 RBI and three stolen bases.
  • Adam Dunn walked three times, nearly doubling his yearly total. He had four all season coming in.
  • Paul Konerko went 0-for-3 and had a really bad three-pitch strike out in the fourth.
