Notes:

*Peavy hurt his thumb on a foul ball in the dugout, but Bruce Bochy calls it a non-issue. Also, Madison Bumgarner is available to pitch if Bochy really needs him.

*As the postseason started, I made a joke about Peavy adding a San Francisco cable car to his collection of modes of transportation. Apparently that wasn't much of a joke:

"Everybody thought the duck boat was an impulse buy," Peavy said of his $75,000 purchase. "But I had the check in my pocket during the parade. San Francisco has grown on me like Boston did -- the spirit of the city. Nothing is planned right now. But I'll tell you, I have spent some time the last few weeks getting to know what those cable cars are about."
