CoreyElDiablo's Offseason Plan

Arbitration-eligible (with projected salaries from MLBTR):

Write "tender" or "non-tender" after each of the following names:

-Not many difficult decisions here. Flowers proved enough to me towards the end of last year that he deserves a chance. Viciedo may or may not be traded (guess which way I’m leaning?). Hector Noesi could move to the bullpen in my mind as a long reliever if he doesn’t start, and Jones is cheap enough to warrant a shot. Guerra isn’t going anywhere, this bullpen needs all the help it can get.

Contract options (pick up or buy out):

Buyout. Simple as that. Didn’t show anything

Free agents (re-sign or let go?):

Let go. 4 million for a 34 year old injury risk is too much

Free agents

Pablo Sandoval- 5 years/ 90 million dollars

-Fills the hole at number 4 hitter, 3rd base, and DH all at once. Pablo can play 3rd and occasionally DH. Gillaspie moves to DH, and Pablo bats 4th to protect Abreu. Expect Pablo’s homer totals to go up in U.S. Cellular Field.

Brandon McCarthy- 3 years/ 36 million dollars

-The Sox welcome back McCarthy, who provides a solid right handed option in a left handed loaded rotation.

Andrew Miller- 3 years/ 30 million dollars

-You gotta overpay in free agency sometimes, and ten million a year for a shutdown lefty is about right.

Neal Cotts- 2 years/ 6 million

-Another solid lefty and former 2005 favorite to bolster the bullpen a bit more.

A.J. Pierzynski- 1 year/ 2 million dollars

-Because I worship chaos.

Trades

White Sox trade Dayan Vicideo to the Mariners and receive Michael Saunders.

-White Sox swap one disappointing outfielder for another. Saunders will compete with J.B. Shuck in left field. This deal also saves the Sox approximately 1.5 million dollars.
