Enter Adam Eaton; Exit Jose Abreu

Adam Eaton returns to the lineup today against the Astros. Unfortunately, Jose Abrea won't be.

Let's start with the good news.  With his absence from AAA Charlotte last night and rumors of his arrival in Houston, the White Sox have reinstated Adam Eaton from the DL today.  He was scheduled originally to go with Charlotte to play in Norfolk last night and leave mid-game to join the White Sox today.  Someone must have thought the Friday night double-header was enough.

OK, now for the bad news.  Jose Abreu has gone on the 15-day DL today with posterior tibia tendonitis.

The ankle problems started for Abreu during spring training.  Some extra rest and rehab at the end of the spring supposedly resolved the problems.

Round two of the ankle problems started ten days ago during the May 8 loss to the Cubs.  That night, the Sox brought in Marcus Semien to pitch hit for him in the bottom of the ninth inning in that 12-5 loss.  He has been the DH in every game since then.  Over that span, the Sox are 2-5 while Abreu has hit .154/.185/.385 with two home runs.
