Now that you're sufficiently prepared for Chris Berman, here's a thread for the Home Run Derby. Each league has five contestants instead of four ...
American League | National League |
Jose Bautista |
Giancarlo Stanton |
Adam Jones |
Yasiel Puig |
Josh Donaldson | Justin Morneau |
Yoenis Cespedes | Todd Frazier |
Brian Dozier | Troy Tulowitzki |
... which is one of a few new wrinkles introduced this year. The biggest one is highlighted in the image above -- a bracket format, which ultimately results in one hitter from each league squaring off in the final round. The three highest first-round totals from each league advance to the second round, with the owner of the highest total getting a bye.
Two more changes:
- Each hitter gets seven outs instead of 10.
- The totals from the first two rounds are no longer combined.
Commence dingers.
