The Chicago White Sox made a move today. It just wasn't one we wanted to see. Adam Eaton has been put on the 15-day DL with a strained oblique. To fill his spot on the roster, the White Sox have recalled Jordan Danks from AAA Charlotte.
This could probably not come at a worse time for the Sox. Eaton is hitting a torrid .434/.488/.513 since the All-Star break with a season fWAR/bWAR of 1.9/3.9. That 3.9 bWAR is good for tenth in the AL.
This is Danks's second trip to the Sox this season. After a very strong spring training, Danks had a bit of a hangover when he was assigned to Charlotte to start the season. That funk continued when he returned to the Sox, hitting just .098/.229/.195. He's broken out of that funk lately in Charlotte, hitting a healthy .299/.378/.440 with five home runs since July 1st.
