get younger with more Talent

Ontherise219's Offseason Plan

Arbitration-eligible (with projected salaries from MLBTR):

Write "tender" or "non-tender" after each of the following names (note: you can trade before or after tendering a contract):

Explain the toughest calls if necessary:

Flowers framing was great this year but he struggled offensively again and to many ballshit the backstop. he will be a great back up in a trade. I will make 2 moves to get younger catchers with a ton of upside. Garcia is to young to quit on. the rest complete our bullpen

Contract options (pick up or buy out)

Explain in a sentence or two, as it could be divisive:

Solid player but We have to get younger. You see it on the North side talent plays and Tim Anderson is talent. third highest BA(.314) in the southern league 1st in SB(49) if he struggles Sanchez can always step in.

Impending free agents (re-sign, let go, or qualifying offer?):

Elaborate if needed:

Albers is to high we have young arms. Beckham can be replaced cheaper, like Sanchez. Soto can be replaced cheaper. Shark will rebound for someone but he will get paid in the second to third tier of starters money the sox cant spend on a maybe.

Free agents

NO. 1: Jason Heyward RF- The White Sox have never paid over 100 million so this s tough to give Hayward 8 years/200. He young(26) he is a gold glove caliber RF. A huge upgrade over Avi who will move to LF to compete for a job.

Trades

Propose two (or more) trades that you think sound reasonable for both sides, and the rationale behind them.

Here is where you have to stay with me.

Trade 1: John Danks(13) and Adam LArouche(12.5) to the Yankees for Mark Teixeira(22)

Saving you 3 Million in salary all 3 are free agents in 2017. The Yankees will need to move Tex to have a spot for Bird to play this year and they need a starter and a Lefty back up 1st. it also gives to=he sox some protection in the line up.

Trade 2: Jose Quintana to boston for Brock Holt, Christen Vasquez, Jackie Bradley Jr.-Garin Cecchini

When Boston loses Sonny Grey to the northsiders the sox can take some depth off the red sox. All players are talented but blocked at the big league level. Holt Can step in and play 3rd for the sox, Christen Vazquez coming off Tommy john will be behind Swihart will gve us a young catcher and Jackie Bradley gives you a left handed bat and solid defensive outfielder to compete in left. Cecchini is a 3rd base prospect we send him to triple A

Trade 3: Melky Cabera- tyler Salidino-Erik Johnson-Chris Beck to San Diego for Tyson Ross and Derek Norris

Norris is expendable with Austin hedges ready. you trade 2 solid young arms, a SS they really need and a outfield bat for Ross the padres aren't afraid to take on a bad contract(Kemp, upton) and it gives the Sox a young solid #2

Summary

As we can see with they playoffs buying older players doesn't Work any more! You need to start to get younger and see if the kids can play. Johnson and Anderson both batted over .300 in the minors the coaches will help bring their defense up. if they struggle we still have Sanchez who can play SS and 2b. plus losing Quintana, Danks, Melky and Larouche you can cover Jason Hayward. The staff will be young, it hurts losing Quintana but the market is too good for controllable pitching plus Coop is one of the best pithing coaches in baseball. Fullmer and Danish could be ready like rondon was if one of the starters struggle.
