I'm still not over it

So, I finally made my first trip to Chicago for the first time today, it went about as well as expected. I wore my Sox hat, because I'm not a quitter ( I'm talking about you, Brett). I got some looks, I saw a lot of gear for "the team that plays on the North Side". I saw flags of a certain letter of the alphabet over windows. It felt like I was being laughed at for my Sox fandom. I already get teased at work, I have to deal with the jerseys. The Royals winning doesn't seem bad anymore. My dog passed away on October 10, which is my brother's birthday, unfortunately. It was between Game 2 and 3 of the NLDS. It wasn't a banner month for me, hell, it was the worse sports month of my life, beating September of 1994 by far. Just think, North Side haters, if Bruce Bochy doesn't overmanage, it's possible this all could've been avoided, if Joe Blanton, Andrew Toles, and Clayton Kershaw don't shrink in the spotlight, this all could've been avoided. If Jose Ramirez is guarding the line, this all could've been avoided. Meanwhile, our guys are stuck in limbo, we have an awful stadium name, an incompetent ownership and front office. We have exactly one good young player in Tim Anderson (please don't fail us, Timmy). All we will hear about for the next year is the 3-1 comeback and how amazing Theo Epstein is. I despise Theo Epstein, as should you, I despised him in Boston. I despise Bryan Shaw, because he is worthless and he sucks, I despise Tyler Naquin, because he is a mental midget who can't call of a fly ball, I despise my family, for saying I should be happy for them, I despise you, because I just hate everyone. Somebody made a comment during the Game 7 thread, but this Cubs team isn't the most popular Chicago champinship squad, just for reference, the entire world knew who the Bulls were in the 90s, I'm pretty sure some 20 year old in Australia has no clue who Kris Bryant is. The Crosstown Classic is going to be interesting next year, remember the last time it was played when one of the teams were defending champs. In a sick way, I want to pull a Malice at the Palace on Jake Arrieta and Anthony Rizzo, but I know I can't do that, because I would be banned from attending games for life. I will be heading to Spring Training this year with my North Side friends, just to give you some reference on the last time I went to Spring Training, it was 4 months after Luis Gonzalez stunned New York. The world just seemed like a better place in 2002, Frank Thomas, Mark Buehrle, Paul Konerko, Ray Durham, Jose Valentin, Carlos Lee, Maggs Ordonez, and, most importantly, a somewhat likeable Kenny Williams. Maybe one day, we will dance in Archer Avenue after Tim Anderson hits a Walk off Grand Slam off Carl Edwards Jr to win the 2027 World Series, while the theme from the Natural plays in the background. We will pop the champagne on the Southside, we will annoy David Haugh and Chris Rongey for years. Hey, a fella can dream
