Of all the positional fluctuation in the White Sox farm system, there may be none more varied than first base at Charlotte. It was mostly a split between Danny Hayes and Travis Ishikawa over the first six weeks of the season, but the release of Ishikawa and the promotion of Nicky Delmonico has opened up the rotation to an unpredictable degree.

The starters over the last week:

  • Sunday: Hayes
  • Tuesday: Delmonico
  • Wednesday: Delmonico
  • Thursday: Hayes
  • Friday: Hayes
  • Saturday: J.B. Shuck
  • Sunday: Delmonico

Shuck stands out as the random turn -- and one primarily designed to threaten Jerry Sands -- but that was actually his eighth start at first this season. It is, however, new to this season. He only made one start at first base over his first seven years of professional baseball. I suppose I am saying that Sands shouldn't feel comfortable either way.

Sunday's box scores will appear below shortly.
